No that’s not a typo:  the Avastar is a weekly or bi-weekly publication of goings-on in Second Life.  Good friend Morrhys Graysmark recently interviewed Tonks Akina, Siri Vita and myself about the PeaceFest.  The article is in Issue #71!   Check it out!

In an earlier post, I mentioned reading Eboo Patel’s Acts of Faith.   A fantastic read.  In the afterword, he has the following quote:

Post proofs that brotherhood
is not so wild a dream as those who profit
by postponing it pretend
 – – Norman Corwin

He goes on to say the following:

A movement is a growing group of people who believe so deeply in a new possibility that they participate in making it a reality.  They won’t all meet.  They won’t even know everybody else’s names.  But somehow, they all have the feeling that people on the other side of the city or country or the world believe in the same idea, burn with the same passion, and are taking risks for the same dream.  (p. 181)

The many efforts of this remarkable set of folks in Peace Train and their friends is proof of the above.  No, we won’t all meet – lol – in fact, we will probably never meet face-to-face.  Does that stop a sisterhood and brotherhood from forming around this common goal, donating hours of personal time, and realizing a dream?

I think not.   But don’t take *my* word for it ; ).   I think 84+ members of Peace Train can speak to this.  Hop on board.

Assalamu alaikum
Peace be upon you
